Book Review – Unpredictable by Jenna Hartley

Juliana is a 37-year-old wedding planner, working through the grief of losing her fiancé. There is no closure to his death. This unfortunately allows her to carry some false hope.  Upon meeting Harrison, 51, Juliana discovers feelings that stir in her that have been dormant for years.  What becomes a HOT encounter one night, gives way to an opportunity to explore more once they reconnect.

Harrison has his own hurts too.  Both are apprehensive about stepping into a relationship, but their chemistry is electric.  Both Harrison and Juliana have amazing friends they lean on to get advice and input.  I especially love the group of girlfriends, writer, Jenna Hartley, created with her Love in LA series.  These women are soul sisters who want the best for each other. Juliana’s friend, Alexis never enables her but lovingly tells her the truth while helping Juliana work through her grief.

My favorite line in this book that Harrison tells Juliana is, “I don’t want to be the man you use to run away. I want to be the man you run to.” This made me swoon and root for these two characters to come together.  It is inspiring how these two works through their struggles to find their way to each other.  Juliana being a wedding planner makes her story even more heart wrenching.  And yet, Harrison has family he has to deal with. But his daughter, Olivia is hoping her Dad will find happiness like she has with her fiancé.

This age gap romance is so perfect it will keep you up at night flipping the pages long past your bedtime.  Jenna Hartley has what it takes to take you on a mental journey that is completely satisfying.  I have no doubt you will agree.  5 STARS!!
